Sunset Town After Dark: Kiss Bridge, Two Shows and What They Cost

Sunset Town sits at the southern tip of Phu Quoc, next to An Thoi, in the same corner of the island as the cable car station. It is a purpose-built Mediterranean-styled waterfront with restaurants, a bridge that does not cross anything, and two evening shows. Whether that appeals is a matter of taste. What it costs, and when things actually happen, is not – and that part is worth getting right, because the timings here are unusually unforgiving.

The bridge that stops short

Kiss Bridge – Cầu Hôn – was designed by the Italian architect Marco Casamonti in collaboration with Sun Group. Two arms reach out over the sea from opposite sides, and where they meet they do not: the tips stop 30 centimetres apart. The idea is borrowed from Michelangelo’s Creation of Adam in the Sistine Chapel, where the two fingers also do not touch.

It is a fair piece of architecture and an excellent photograph, and it is not a way of getting anywhere. You walk out, you look, you walk back. Sunset over the water falls somewhere between about half past five and half past six depending on the month – this is ten degrees north of the equator, so the light goes quickly once it starts – and the hour or two before that is when the coloured facades are worth photographing. Check the day’s actual time rather than assuming a long European evening. A bridge ticket on its own is 100,000 VND.

The two shows are different products at different hours

This is where most evenings go wrong, because the names blur together and the times do not.

Symphony of the Sea is the earlier, more variety-show-like of the two: water effects, lights, fire, jet skis, flyboards, fireworks. Published prices run 550,000–660,000 VND depending on where you buy.

Kiss of the Sea starts at 9 pm on the open-air stage on the water, with fireworks daily at 9:30 pm. Bought at the counter it is 1,000,000 VND; a Kiss of the Sea ticket site advertises an online rate of 700,000 VND, described as a 30% discount with a Kiss Bridge ticket included.

And the caveat that is easy to miss. Since 15 November 2025 the show has run every day of the week, Tuesdays included – but the operator’s own page states that on Tuesdays the performers do not appear, because the slot is used for rehearsals. So a Tuesday ticket is not a cancelled show and it is not the show you saw on YouTube either. If your only free evening is a Tuesday, ask what is actually running before you buy.

Buying it through a tour, and when that is worth it

The most-reviewed of these packages in our GetYourGuide inventory is Dinner with Symphony of the Sea and Kiss of the Sea, from €22.85, 4.5 stars from 62 reviews. It is really six products under one listing: either show as a ticket only, either with dinner, both together, and versions with a private transfer added. One thing for the budget: the same page states a peak-season surcharge of 250,000 VND from 1 November 2026 to 30 June 2027, and it applies only to the options that include dinner at the restaurant.

That last option is the one that decides it. Sunset Town is at the far south of the island; most hotels are on Long Beach or further north. A show that ends after the 9:30 pm fireworks leaves you looking for a ride home at ten at night from a place where everyone else is doing the same thing. If you are not driving yourself, the transfer version is not an upsell – it is the difference between an evening and an ordeal.

Two other listings in the same family sell the same dinner-and-show combination at the same €22.85 and rate 3.3 and 3.5 stars, from 39 and 27 reviews. Same price, same shows, visibly different evenings. It is worth reading which operator is behind the option you are clicking.

And an honest note from the reviews of that listing: one traveller who gave it five stars said the ticket arrived as a QR code and was easy to use, but that it was slightly cheaper to buy at the booths by the bridge. That matches the published counter and online prices above. If you are already at Sunset Town at six in the evening with nothing booked, walking up to the booth is a real option.

Fitting it into the day

The one thing Sunset Town has going for it logistically is that everything else in the south is nearby. The cable car to Hon Thom starts a short distance away, which is why a few operators sell the two together – the Hon Thom cable car, water park and Kiss Bridge tour is €63.81 with 5 stars, though only from 10 reviews.

Whether that combination works depends on which cable car day you have booked. The classic three-island boat day already returns you to your hotel at 5:30 pm after nine hours on the water, and going straight back south for a 9 pm show is a long day by any measure. If it is the sunset you want rather than the show

Sunset Town is a destination with a sunset, not a sunset trip. If the sea at dusk is the actual point, the island’s sunset cruises are a separate category with 66 offers from €11.08 and a median of €35.16 – and they put you on the water facing west rather than on a promenade looking at it.

One final practical point. Nothing in Sunset Town needs a car, and on this island that is just as well: Vietnam recognises only licences issued under the 1968 convention for driving a car, so visitors generally use a Grab, a taxi, a scooter or a car with a driver. For a show that ends at half past nine at the opposite end of the island from your hotel, arrange the way back before you buy the ticket.
